This year, eighth time in a row, Campaign Month of Roma Women Activism was organized. The campaign started Osmomartovski women's marches in several cities organized itself Campaigns individual. The campaign began on March 8 with Women's March in Belgrade. This was followed by a number of individual actions in smaller towns.
Women Space, with the support of Open Society Foundations Human Rights Initiative, initiated the series of discussions in Roma and LGBT communities in Serbia and the region on the theme of diversity within Roma and LGBT communities. With these activities, we want to emphasize the intersectionality of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, class, place of residence, age, health status and other personal characteristics.
Project COLLECTIVE - Center for improvement of LGBT+ people status, started with the implementation on August 1st, 2016. The project involves the organization of educational, cultural and recreational programs, group and individual sessions of psycho-social support for members of LGBT+ community, on monthly basis, and the organization and implementation of several public major events on the local level dedicated to the LGBT + community and promotion of the rights of LGBT + people to the majority population in the Southeast Serbia.
The organization of the International Queer Film Festival - Merlinka is becoming tradition in our city, slowly but surely. This time the festival is jointly organized by activists of Association of Citizens Zadrugarice and the COLLECTIVE initiative.
The Antifascist Collective of Niš, the group of activists from organizations: Women Space, Center for Civil Resources Development, Committee for Human Rights and Centre for Girls, will commemorate the November 9 - The International Day against Fascism with the standing action at the Kralj Milan Square, starting at 2 P.M.
