Niš feminist organizations’ activists have been diligent in setting up another FemiNiš - Festival of women’s activism and art. This year festival events will be held in several city locations between September 20^th and 25^th. For Niš visitors and guests from the southSerbia and the region, we did our best to offer a full and current program that will present novelties from an ever active feminist scene. Moreover, we want to show a rich feminist theory and valuable women activism in this region.

Festival’s visitors and guests can expect an abundant cultural and art content such as exhibition of contemporary artists, book promotions and blogs by female authors, and several documentary and feature length movies dealing with women and their issues in a modern world, all by women authors. In addition, in the course of discussions and workshops we will have an opportunity to exchange ideas about the effects of women struggle and support mechanism we offer and receive within the feminist community.

Organizers will have the opportunity to offer accommodation and travel expenses to a limited number of festival guests from Serbia. Festival of women’s activism and art – FemiNiš 2012 is organized by Women’s Space and Center for Girls groups and supported in solidarity by Swedish peace and gender equality promotion foundation Kvinna till Kvinna, Reconstruction – Women’s Fund and Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung forSE Europe..

Friends of the festival include local institutions and organizations: Public Museum, Niš; Student Cultural Centre, Niš Cultural Centre, Media Center Niš, Public Library Stevan Sremac and Society for children and youth development – Open Club.
